- Acura is the luxury brand of the Japanese automaker Honda. It was launched in 1985, but it did not receive its current name until 1989. Previous to that, it was known as Channel. Today, the company’s headquarters is located in Tokyo, Japan.
- The logo of Acura looks like the letter “A,” but it has deeper connotations than that. It represents the calliper, which is a tool for accurate measurements. The emblem implies that every Acura vehicle, from the 2020 Acura MDX to the 2020 Acura TLX, is made with precision and perfection.
- Acura vehicles have made appearances in several big budget Hollywood films. The Acura NSX Roadster was featured in the “Avengers” and the Acura MDX and Acura TL sedans appeared in the television show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Acura and Marvel Entertainment have had a professional partnership since 2010.
- In 1989, at the Chicago Motor Show, Acura introduced the very first Japanese super car, the mid-engine prototype model Acura NS-X. This high-performance sports car was the world’s first production car with an aluminum chassis and bodywork. This car quickly received two awards from Automobile Magazine: “Best Car of the Year” and “Best Design of the Year.”
